Job Description:

Complete Pet Care Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time Veterinary Medical Transcriptionist to join our team in Raleigh, NC. As a Veterinary Medical Transcriptionist, you will play a vital role in accurately transcribing medical records for our busy, nine-doctor practice. Our practice offers routine surgeries as well as advanced procedures like laparoscopic and orthopedic surgeries. We also provide in-house ultrasound, dental cleanings, radiology, laboratory services, and chemotherapy. We are looking for a transcriptionist who can handle a high volume of medical records, transcribe them accurately, and work effectively with our team of veterinarians, practice managers, and customer care technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Medical Transcription: Accurately transcribe veterinary medical records in SOAP format, utilizing a foot pedal to capture dictations from our veterinarians.

• Veterinary Terminology: Use your knowledge of veterinary terminology to transcribe diagnoses, treatments, and medical procedures accurately.

• Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Care Technicians, Practice Managers, and Veterinarians to resolve any discrepancies in medical records.

• Timeliness & Accuracy: Ensure that medical records are transcribed in a timely manner while maintaining high accuracy.

• Medical Documentation: Convert medical jargon and abbreviations into clear, concise records that convey the necessary medical information.

• Software Use: Utilize Avimark Veterinary software to maintain and organize transcriptions (experience with Avimark is preferred but not mandatory).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Veterinary Terminology Knowledge: A solid understanding of veterinary medical terminology is essential for accurately transcribing records.

• Typing Skills: Ability to type quickly and accurately while listening to audio recordings.

• Medical Documentation: Experience with medical documentation, particularly in a veterinary setting, is a plus.

• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure all medical records are transcribed with accuracy.

• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and addressing any discrepancies in records.

• Experience with Foot Pedals: Experience using foot pedals for transcription is preferred.

• Location Requirement: Candidates must reside in the Raleigh, North Carolina area to be considered for this position.
